4.2 Student Data

We may collect and process limited personal data relating to Students, which may include:

  • A username chosen by the Parent
  • Age, school year group, or similar educational information
  • Responses, answers, and learning progress
  • Usage, interaction, and activity data within the Student Website. This data may include information about how Students interact with content, features, and tools within the Service, and is used to support learning outcomes, improve the Service, and ensure the safety and integrity of the platform.

We do not require Students' real names nor contact details.

5. How We Use Personal Data

We use personal data for the following purposes:

5.1 Providing the Service

  • Creating and managing Parent and Student accounts
  • Delivering educational content
  • Tracking learning progress
  • Providing customer support

5.2 Improving the Service

  • Analysing usage to improve features and learning outcomes
  • Testing and developing new functionality

5.3 Communications with Parents

We may contact Parents for purposes including:

  • Service-related messages (e.g. account updates, security notices)
  • Requests for feedback, surveys, and user research

We do not send marketing communications directly to Students.

5.4 Personalised Recommendations for Parents

We may use Student learning progress and usage data to generate personalised insights and recommendations for Parents.

These recommendations may include suggestions for additional learning resources, features, subscriptions, or educational products offered by us that may help support a Student's learning needs.

Any such recommendations or promotional communications are directed solely to Parents and are not shown to Students.

6. Legal Bases for Processing

We process personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Contractual necessity: to provide the Service to Parents
  • Legitimate interests: to improve the Service, understand user needs, and communicate with Parents about the Service
  • Consent: where required by law, including for certain marketing communications

Parents may object to or opt out of communications at any time (see Section 10).

Where we use Student data to inform personalised recommendations or communications to Parents, this processing is carried out on the basis of our legitimate interests in supporting educational outcomes and improving the Service, and the interests and rights of Students are safeguarded through parental control and oversight.

7. Children's Data and Parental Control

  • Student accounts can only be created and managed by Parents
  • We rely on Parents to provide consent for the processing of Student data
  • Parents can access, correct, or delete Student data through their account or by contacting us
  • We do not sell children's personal data
  • We do not show third-party advertising to Students

8. Data Sharing

We may share personal data with trusted third parties, including:

  • Payment processors (e.g. Stripe)
  • Hosting and infrastructure providers
  • Analytics and performance monitoring providers

These providers process data only on our instructions and are subject to appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell personal data to third parties.
